The Somatic Enneagram

Kanika Frings

Looking at our personality structure through the innate intelligence of the body.

The Enneagram is an ancient wisdom tool that helps us see and understand the defensive strategies we have formed around our essential being in order to survive in the holding environment we grew up in.

Often this once very intelligent coping mechanism becomes a hindrance later on in life when we long to meet life fully and more responsively, rather than repeating the same patterns over and over again, having self-defeating tendencies.

Each one of us has certain holding patterns in which energy gets stuck in the nervous system and other parts of the body, manifesting blockages, tensions and illnesses around old traumas and contractions that keep us from experiencing a free and abundant flow of life force.

In this 3-day Workshop we will look into the 9 different holding patterns and coping strategies located in the 3 Centers of Intelligence, namely the Head, the Heart and the Belly Centre. When the intelligence of all 3 centers are freely accessible and available to us, we can respond to the world freely and spontaneously, rather than reacting to it through conditioned and limited behavioural and somatic mechanisms.

*Prerequisite: A Basic Understanding of the Enneagram  (there is a recording available of Kanika Frings´ Essential Enneagram Workshop, purchasable for 25€, to get the fundamental understanding of this system in 3 hours). It is also recommendable to have had an Enneagram Typing Session with Kanika if you are unsure of your Ennnea-type. You can schedule an appointment ahead of time via info@kanikafrings.com
